Fine Media Group's Films Receives More Awards
Bridgeview, IL (May 13, 2003)- Fine Media Group continues to receive awards for its Middle Eastern animated cartoon movies. Adding to its list of honors, THE JAR: A TALE FROM THE EAST has won yet another film prize. The New York International Independent Film & Video Festival awarded The Jar its top honor in the animation category, last April, 2003. Fine Media Group is a Chicago-based media company, whose other children's animation, Fables of Bah Ya Bah, was selected at the same event as the Best Children's Film production in the short film category. We were just informed that both of our productions received awards, said Oussama Jammal, president of Fine Media. We are very pleased. These films appeal to a wide audience and deliver a wholesome message that is both edifying and fun. No preaching. Jammal added: The Middle Eastern culture and family values presented in these movies make them increasingly appealing to American audiences, especially nowadays. The New York honor completes a sweep of awards from coast to coast and around the globe. Previously, The Jar received First Place in the Feature Film-Animation division at Hollywood's prestigious Burbank International Children's Film Festival (October 26 - November 3, 2001, Burbank, California). It was a finalist at the Santa Clarita International Film Festival in California, Feature Film-Animation division. Globally, The Jar was the winner of the Ninth Cairo International Film Festival for Children, and also received Honors at the Pulcinella Awards Competition in the Cartoons on the Bay Festival in Italy. The New York film festival is a tri-city festival held at different times in three different cities; Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and New York. It is one of the most renowned of its kind, attracting entries from all over the world in features, shorts, animation, and documentary categories. We were competing with some of the best productions in the independent film industry, said Jammal. I am grateful that such a respected group of industry experts appreciated our productions. The Jar is a tale based on a true story narrated more than fourteen centuries ago, in which a poor family unearths a treasure that did not rightfully belong to them. The story reveals the struggle between greed and honesty, peppered with comedy. Fables of Bah Ya Bah is a collection of the most splendid short stories from the Middle East. It highlights lifelong values such as teamwork, positive attitude, freedom, and good will. Fables of Bah Ya Bah is packed with six different short stories, each fable concludes with a powerful musical rendition that reinforces the moral of the story. Both films received endorsements from the Coalition for Quality Children's Media, the Film Advisory Board, and the Dove Foundation.
